Parish suffers mindless vandalism

It is with sadness and frustration that the parish councils received a report of mindless vandalism.

The parish noticeboard and litterbin located on the bus shelter at the junction of Heather Avenue and Heath Road were vandalised between the hours of 07:45am and 08:30am on the 17th March 2021.

At the Parish meeting held on 10th January 2018, members resolved to upgrade the CCTV camera's located within the Memorial Garden and at the Pavilion.

Increased Police Presence

The Parish Council are pleased to advise that the Derbyshire Police have prioritised a number of locations that are currently experiencing anti-social behaviour and are in need of extra patrols to try and reduce incidents, whilst offering reassurance.

Anti - Social behaviour - Memorial Gardens

Parish members are disappointed to advise residents that since the Christmas tree was erected with new lights it has been vandalised not once but on four occasions.

We are now in a position that the tree can no longer be lit on health and safety grounds. Therefore, the tree will now be left in darkness.

For these acts of vandalism, the costs are running towards £600.
