Increase in bicycle thefts
If you have a bike please keep it safe and secure- that's our advice following a recent number of thefts of bicycles across Derbyshire.
Our officers are investigating 20 reports of bikes which have been stolen over the past four weeks, from homes and outside businesses in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, the Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and the High Peak.

The playgrounds at:
- Heath Estate Park
- Searston Avenue
- Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) - Holmewood
Will continue to remain closed and out of bounds during the current lock down period. Please be advised the police are periodically checking these areas and will ask challenge you or your children if you use them

More funding for businesses welcomed
Extra funding released by the Government to support local small businesses during the coronavirus outbreak was today welcomed by Councillor Barry Lewis, the leader of the council.
To qualify, Derbyshire businesses need to:
- be in receipt of small business rate relief or rural rate relief as of 11 March AND
- occupy property.
