Community Litter Pick

A successful litter pick took place on Saturday, 29th March 2025, this was organised through a partnership between the Parish Council, Rapid Relief Team, Chesterfield, Chesterfield Litter Picker Group, and Farmery Services, the event saw outstanding participation and definite results in the drive for a cleaner environment.

The day began with volunteers gathering to tackle litter across the area. Thanks to their dedication, a significant amount of waste was collected.

Adding an adventurous twist to the day, youngsters were treated to a free climbing wall, with delicious food generously supplied by RRT, ensuring that participants were well-fed and energised.

A consultation was also held during the event to discuss the redevelopment of Searston Avenue Recreation Ground. Residents had the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the future of this vital community space.

The Parish Council extends heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and partners who made the event possible. It shows what can be achieved through partnership working and perseverance.

Building on the success of this event, plans are already underway for similar initiatives in the future. These efforts aim to strengthen community ties and continue the shared commitment to working towards creating a parish that residents can continue to be proud of.
