Extra funding released by the Government to support local small businesses during the coronavirus outbreak was today welcomed by Councillor Barry Lewis, the leader of the council.

To qualify, Derbyshire businesses need to:

• be in receipt of small business rate relief or rural rate relief as of 11 March AND
• occupy property.

Businesses that qualify should not have to apply but if they are worried they haven't heard anything, they are advised to contact their local district or borough council – the council they pay their business rates to.
